John Jeffire is an acclaimed poet, novelist, and teacher. He has read from his work on National Public Radio (WDET in Detroit) and at Wayne State University, Oakland University, the Scarab Club, the Detroit Jazz Cafe, and other venues throughout metropolitan Detroit. He taught for 10 years at the collegiate level and has over 20 years of experience in the high school classroom, and he has done workshops on writing for the National Writing Project and the Michigan Youth Arts Council.
